James Castro Profile Picture

James

James has been teaching salsa classes for more than 16 years instructing all levels of dancers from beginners to advanced. He has travelled extensively throughout Europe, and Asia having taught and performed at various salsa congresses and events. He holds sports coaching qualifications and has studied from and taken classes with some of the best salsa instructors around the world.

James believes very strongly in building a strong base by really focussing on learning the right techniques from day one. His approach achieves fantastic results getting students dancing in such a short period of time regardless of ability. Whereas many instructors focus on teaching routines during classes James uses techniques that actually teach dancers how to lead and follow, developing the connection which is instrumental in learning how to social dance.

FAQ

No. We rotate partners during the class so you will dance with everybody and its a great way to meet other people.

Anything comfortable that won’t fall off your foot but the shoes must have non marking soles to protect the studio floor and not have to much grip so that you can turn. Ladies: we suggest wearing flats as you learn because it encourages you to step properly. As you improve you can wear heels if thats what you wish to dance in.

Anything comfortable that won’t get in the way of your dancing. So nothing too long that you will trip over or anything too baggy that your partner will get caught up in.

We accept cash or credit card payments at our venues. We do however suggest booking online to guarantee your place in class.

You are never too old to dance or to learn to dance! We have adults of all ages taking our classes so you will not feel out of place. If you can walk you can dance!
